On January 3rd 2011, we lost a dear member of the Mend family – Irene.
Irene was a faithful friend, humble leader and talented seamstress with a kind soul and contagious laugh. Formerly abducted by the LRA, Irene escaped and spent four years at Mend making beautiful handbags that people around the world cherish. Some would say that Mend had a huge impact on Irene’s life, and they would be right. But those of us who had the privilege of knowing her were also changed.
It’s with the desire to remember and commemorate her life, that we introduce The Irene Tote.
