Screenprinting adds another level of storytelling to a product, and it’s something we knew we wanted to do at the Mend workshop from the beginning. The challenges in front of us were daunting though — inconsistent power, and a lack of access to the large machines traditionally associated with this art form.

We’re proud to introduce you to one of our newest family members - Lucy.
She was abducted by the LRA rebels and is now one of our newest seamstresses.
And only five months after she joined Mend, she was awarded Seamstress of the Month.

Back to school
Rose walked out of the MEND center yesterday dressed impeccably in her Saint Kizito school uniform. Rose wears her uniform proudly because she was finally able to go back to school last year. Because of her savings from making handbags at MEND, she can finally afford to continue her education.
